Mira Mesa homeowner at heart of foreclosure battle
Quote:
June Reyno, her husband and their five dogs have lived in their Mira Mesa home for nearly 20 years. Now, they are being evicted, but June Reyno is not having it.
She's defying the eviction by chaining herself to her home.
The San Diego Sheriff's Department is expected to come out to the Reyno's home sometime Monday or Tuesday. Reyno said she will remain chained to her home until "the California State Legislature elected officials respond to these massive evictions and foreclosures that are going on in our county."
Reyno lost her job recently and the couple's salary was cut in half. They have an adjustable rate mortgage and can't afford the $5,800 monthly payments.
Reyno said they were approved for a loan to buy back the property, but she claimed property manager Jeff Wagner apparently won't agree to these terms.
The Reyno's future is unknown, but June Reyno stays strong.
"We will not allow them to take this home from us," she said.

How sad. She has lived in that house with her husband for almost 20 years in Mira Mesa. I'm sure when she bought that house in 1988, the $5,800 a month was a deal to be had. Wait, $5,800 a month? For a Mira Mesa house? Bought 20 years ago? Is there something wrong with this picture?
Oh wait, she possibly HELOC'd her house and got over $300k CASH out of it and sunk it into
risky business ventures (according to
this blog)! She traded her home for cash, burned through the money, and is now another
poor homeowner slated to lose her house. Of course, refinancing their house with 20 years of equity into an ADJUSTABLE RATE MORTGAGE was a good move too. Clearly, it is someone else's fault they didn't know what they were doing. Boo hoo! But wait,
she'll help you if you are losing your house!
I love how the reporter has crap for facts and only reports on the
sadness of some idiot being foreclosed on. Let's dig deeper, shall we?

House originally bought for
$192k in 1989 (and sold again in 1999 for $200k, not sure what that is about if they have lived there for 20 years, but whatever.)

The
estimated default on the house is
$633,248.52!
So clearly, they took their
home that was nearing being paid for completely, used it as collateral for loans totaling over
THREE TIMES the amount they paid for it, can't afford the payments on those loans totaling over $600k a month, and
they are the victims?
Remember cases like this when you here your representatives, mayors, and friends talking about the 'foreclosure crisis'. These people brought this on themselves and it is not OUR problem. They can go rent somewhere and live on.
Oh, it made CNN too. Poor poor homeowners.
