ok this section of this thread is gonna turn terrible. but its gonna be so fun.

imports pwn the world.

http://static.flickr.com/36/98936621_3884b1e5cf.jpg

that car is absolutely the nicest car on the planet. there is nothing sexier then that vehicle. it would be a great daily driver or something just to have fun with on weekends. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, its not the fastest car, but show me a faster car that looks that good. 200+ mph thats good enough for me. that is the perfect car. IMO. ha.

i love both domestic and import cars, but imports are better at making power off less displacement.

Straight from the Honda website. No wonder ricers have this "idea" in their head that those cars are hot.

Set free the all-new 2006 Civic Si and hold on tight. Because the car that redefined the modern sport-compact revolution now runs on pure i-VTEC® adrenaline. At the center of this revolutionary masterpiece lives the powerful 197-horsepower 2.0-liter K20 engine that screams performance. Add in a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission, sportier suspension and road-hugging standard 17" wheels, and the 2006 Civic Si is ready for anything your race-driven brain can muster up. The 20th-anniversary Civic Si is loaded with hi-tech performance and attitude. And it's waiting for your go.

Luckily the driver was OK. Import or not, you hate to see a track goer lose their ride. If insurance doesn't cover it, you have to pay for the car that you don't have AND pay for the car you will need to get. $900 in monthly car payments FTL.

It is simple, import guys are haters. Especially cause they are on the bottom looking up at what is going on. A Maxima or a Mustang? geez...I can bet what 80% of the world would rather have. :hoon:

Maxima is a family sedan that is meant for decent mileage and decent comfort for the price. They threw a V6 in it so it wouldnt be a slug.

Ahahaha. People definitely don't buy imports because they can't afford a domestic. They simply have different priorites and would rather have a nicer car, instead of a drag strip car. When looking for a good car, Japanese and European automakers have a much better selection. What's your excuse?
There are haters in every camp. They're generally ignorant people who aren't willing to accept the fact that just maybe, there is something better.

Ok, well then that's different. Modified civic drivers are in a class of their own. Those morons do think that they can smoke everyone, with a cold air intake and no hubcaps.
I haven't mentioned anything about the maxima being better than another car. It has potential, and mine has beat domestics on the strip and in the turns, but it's not to say it will every time.
I agree with your reason for choosing the mustang, and i'd consider it too if that's what i was looking for. Easy to mod to be quick, and inexpensive. IMO, there's something for everyone, just depends and what you want in a car.
Seems like the most common argument in here from domestic owners is 1/4 mile times. In that case, one would be stupid to buy a budget import (Jap or Euro) expecting 12 sec passes. But personally i'm looking for something more versatile, and as long as it doesn't run slower than 15's it should suffice. There are more aspects to a car than 0-60 and 1/4 times, that's all i'm saying/

well it appears the most common argument from you guys with imports is "well your domestic sucks in the twisties"...doesn't make much sense to me is all..as for being versatile, yea the stang won't go offroading, or haul a piano, but it works pretty well. gets me places in comfort and speed, and can haul a little bit of junk too.

I drive my car, in comfort, 70 miles round trip M-F. It has great A/C, Shaker 1000 great audio, a nice easy clutch, good ride and decent gas mileage. I am getting about 18.5mpg city/highway in a 350 crank hp ride. Let's not forget it still looks good, and I can cruise it on the weekends.

Now why is an import better again?? What does a Maxima, Civic, G35, 350Z, etc., etc., have over my car?

IRS? Ok, but that's not justified for a Mustang
Better Interior? Maybe a little, but not a huge amount and that isn't a huge thing for me anyway.
Gas mileage? Ok, you win here, but I wouldn't have gotten a Mustang if I needed better gas mileage.

What else is there?

Do you do 1/4 mile runs all the way to work? Is that what "daily driving" consists of? Why is a 10 sec car so special?

I actually do road course style driving all the way to work. I beat the piss out of everything I own, drive it like you stole it. My Maximas are/were the same. My 92 has 297k on it and I saw redlines every shift, just about. I must say, it has held up great, the interior is still like new, except a few tears in the leather, that car doesnt even rattle. It still runs too, but the motor is hurting, that is why the JDM one is on its way in.

Now why is an import better again?? What does a Maxima, Civic, G35, 350Z, etc., etc., have over my car?

Like I've been saying, if you're happy with what you are driving, then that's it. Who cares really? Every car has something that's better than others. Ok, almost every car.

Again, a 'better-interior' is a subjective term. What's better for me can be horribly wrong for other people. I just like my interior better than Mustangs, as you like your interior better than mine. :)

Your sarcasm is appreciated, and your correct on all 3 points. European cars are imports too, and many will leave the Z06 in the gutter.
However, i must admit the Z06 is an awesome car, and is a great value. I think you're seeing import drivers as "domestic haters", when really it's only certain vehicles that are disliked. There are some good cars being made in America, but unfortunately they are few and far betweem.

well....obviously price is not an issue here...just brute power comparison.

Corvette Z06: 0-60 in 4.2sec 1/4mile in 12.3sec@116.6mph and pulled .98g
Porsche Carrera GT: 3.7sec/ 11.3sec@131.6mph and pulled .99g
Ferrari Enzo: 3.3sec/ 11.1sec@133.0mph and pulled 1.01g
Lambo Murcielago: 3.6sec/ 12.0sec@121.0mph and pulled .90(bah!)

Interesting piece:

A Mercedes Benz E55 AMG: 4.2sec 0-60mph and 12.4sec@116.4mph :shck:
Definitely not faster than Z06 and only pulled .84g but still, it's amazing feat considering this car has....well....everything.

I dont think Ferraris or Lambos should even be classified as "imports" which falls under the same category as civics. The same way a GT shouldnt be a "domestic". They are all "SUPER CARS".

Its funny how you say all import drivers hate domestics when i'm here thinking the exact opposite also.

Everyone's so quick to throw out negative comments like rice boy and whiney lil girls, etc. I appreciate all types of cars and i'm selective in my approach. And in no way am I stupid enough to compare a family sedan to a 300+hp Stang and say its better.

Maybe if we all just learned something about the other side from this and stopped hacking each other to pieces things would be better off.... nah, guess not.

Koenigsegg CCX > Veyron

only in theory, that car has never really gone that fast. to unstable at that high of speed. so the Veyron is still the fastest car. no test driver has the balls to take the koenigsegg that fast. but i will say that the Koenigsegg is one hot car.

P.S. the Veyron only goes 252.3 mph, because engineers had to lower the top speed of the car. The chassis and drive train do not allow the car to go any faster.

Actually, I recall reading a test in one of my Road & Track's where they said that yes, it is comfortable enough to drive on a daily basis.

However, it does weigh 4000 pounds. That said, it is not too bad for a 16 cylinder car.

hahaha, and no the skyline is not better. that model to me is hideous as well. r33 or r32 ftw! i personally think that for an overall package you cant get better then the aston martins. and apparently car magazines agree with me because it was named the sexiest coupe ever built, cant remember the magazine. true that is opinion, but come on look at it. beautiful, fast, luxurious, sexy styling, that car would get you more ass then either the skyline or the veyron.
