You ever wonder what it would sound like to play Pet Sounds over TheDownward Spiral? Or if we mixed Queen’s Princes Of The Universe withthe theme from Sanford And Son? Did you ever look at the paper andthink “Wow, wouldn’t it be cool if China’s current rise as a navalpower was actually the reason the guitarist from Queen started teachingan astronomy course?” If this is how you spend your evenings whilewaiting for our webpage to change, buddy, you are in luck! Becausehere’s your challenge for this week:
Take two actual headlines from online news sources, mash them up, and create an image illustrating the headline.
We'll need links to the two headlines from news stories and current events in 2007, your new mashed up headline, and, of course, the graphic depicting this new occurrence.
Post your entry here by 11:59 PM CST on Sunday, December 16, 2007. Prizes are $20/$50/$100 for 3rd/2nd/1st. The rules and criteria for winning: our panel of volunteer judges can and will make stuff up as it goes along. Use Photoshop, linoleum blocks, pastels, MSPaint, cave painting, tattoos, tribal scarification, whatever, but it’ll only be judged if it’s visible in our forums as a jpg, gif, or png. As we are fond of saying, try to keep your maximum width to 450px. If you need a place to host your pictures, try www.imageshack.ws or www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com/). We have no connection to either, but they seem free and easy to use. And if you want us to be sure your entry was indeed your work, post links to your source images. The more sure we are that you did your own work, the more likely we are to consider it for a prize.
