R.L. White, president of the Atlanta chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said his organization does not condone dogfighting or any other illegal activity, but he told reporters that Vick should be given a chance to redeem himself.

So, if he is found guily of federal conspiracy charges, the NFL should keep him around so he can prove he REALLY is a good guy?

WTF! he fucked up. there are consequences to every action. he made his choices.

I think R. L. White needs to change his name before taking that position. Then he needs to shut the fuck up.

So the NAACP is saying that the NFL should allow a convicted felon to have a second chance?

They should take their own advice and give OJ another chance at being a Black Man in America. We all know he did it, so why not let him redeem himself?

this is a wonderful article (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/070821) written by a black female journalist over at the ESPN site. i was turned on to this article after listening to jim rome interview the writer this morning on his radio show.

it's a great piece that should make those people who are standing up in support of michael vick think about the reasons why they're supporting him. as one of the callers, a black male, said "dr. king must be rolling in his grave" after hearing about the NAACP and others supporting vick.
