Yellow Saleen Mustang. Its very clean and he's got a ton of parts in it. A very well rounded car. I think he just got X-pipes, Flowmasters, Pancard rod (?), and other goodies yesterday.

His wife works at Saleen, so he has the hook-up. :D

Very clean. Panhard bar, really helps the handling I hear.

Tell him to give you a ride, so you can get the itch. I know you would probably never buy a Mustang, but you WILL have a smile on your face while driving in it! :D

i've gone for a ride, TWICE. The damn thing was fast, the torque is unbelieveable and it breathes pretty well. I almost broke down and bought one but he's put a lot of money into it and has hook-ups at Saleen.

I wouldn't say never, just not at this time. I never liked the styling till I saw Gio's car, then the new generation came out. If I had to get one, I like the Saleen version in white, it looks sick. But I think a Saleen Stang is almost $40k?

Thats cool. Modular motors breathe really well all the way up top. They put a smile on my face everytime.

I think you can get an SN95 body style Saleen for less, that sounds like the price of a newer one.

4.6L, 5.4L..stangs ahve the 4.6 in various guises..2v, 3v, 4v. ford trucks, ford GT's, 2000 Cobra R's, and GT500's have the 5.4L in various forms.

saleen did the S281..base model..slow..
S281SC -- supercharged GT, fast, expensive
S281E -- supercharged GT, built motor, lots of HP
Saleen Cobra -- saleen cobra -- uber fast, and a cobra.

How cute... a little baby blower.....seriously, that is pretty much the bottom of the blower barrel. They are relaible and won't blow your stock block, but don't expect too much power out of them. His car looks nice overall. Just tell him he needs a KB

Then again, I have NO blower so , HE > ME

He already has the full exhaust, cams, ECU tuning, 10psi, larger TB....

That should be enough for over 400rwhp?

Don't listen to Donald. That blower is not very efficient. It is a "safe " one and it can probably get him to 400 or so, with his mods, but don't bet the house on it. One of our members "SStrayer" had the same one and he even had it ported. There are far better options. But considering it came with it from Saleen, it's a good setup. No one that knows about modular motors, goes out and buys a Saleen blower. They are not powerful enough and for the same money, KB > Saleen.

Is the blower bad due to design or purely based on output efficiency?

What about an upgrade to a smaller pulley?

SanDiego01Snake

its just a smaller blower that doesnt push a lot of air, compared to larger blowers

Kloogy

..but it is a safe one. That's why Saleen uses it. It's good for 350 or so rwhp, from the factory. He has more mods so he might be higher .

yea it's definetly safe to use, but after a certain point it gets too heatsoaked to produce any power

Larrio

how do the larger blowers get by the heat soak problem

SanDiego01Snake
08-04-2006, 01:12 PM
to an extent, they don't..but because they flow more air more efficiently, however if spun high enough, they will still heatsoak. the good thing about them is that because they do move more air, you make the same amount of power at a lower amount of boost pressure.

hmm, i see.

He's waiting for the warranty to expire, hence the somewhat "mild" list of mods. I think after that it is a ZEX nitrous kit and other goodies.

if he plans to go nuts, he will need a forged motor
