They have improved their line up and might have another move up their sleeve. I expect them to do well, especially since they started clicking the second half of last season.

LETS GO LAKERS!

Kobe has collected his last ring. I hope he enjoyed Shaq winning another one.

Kobe has a LONG career ahead of him. I hope Shaq enjoyed it, cause he is outtie in about a year or two, he will be able to really chunk up sitting on the couch. You know that is all that fat ass really wants to do.

BTW: He didnt help Miami THAT much, there is alot of other good players on that team...he is fat and out of shape.:snack:

You are smoking too much good stuff. The diesel was the reason behind your rings. Finding a dominant big man is not easy. Shooting guards are easier to replace.

Basketball takes a TEAM. He was a contributor to that team, but there was other people who stepped it up, just like with Miami. Although he was even less of a factor for them and a bigger factor for the Lakers. If the Lakers keep building like they are, they will be in good shape. They did well last season and they are a better team now, with better players.

stick to baseball...:shck:  :fluff2:

the lakers did well? yes, please put down whatever it is you have been smoking.

center/power forward. you can't honestly tell me that kwame brown and chris mihm are any kind of answer in the middle can you? not in this loaded power forward/center conference. if you think that, be ready for a perennial #8 seed.

point guard? MAYBE jordan farmar can help. he certainly can't hurt unless he completely fails to pick up the triangle offense. he should be better than whomever the lakers threw out there in that position last season, especially that black hole of defense, smush parker. i still haven't gotten over how much he choked in games 5 and 6.

shooting guard. ok, kobe is kobe, but being that he is kobe, there is NO guarantee that the "team first" mentality he showed in the first round of the playoffs. he has NEVER shown any inclination toward actually playing within the scheme of the triangle. kobe has the opinion that he is superior to michael jordan. for him to think so is a grave mistake. he has to pull his head out of his ass and commit to playing the coach's offense, not his own. until then, he'll be the single best one-on-one player. too bad this isn't a one-on-one game.

small forward. lamar odom. insanely gifted. head case. inconsistent. need i say more?

bench. do they have one? devean george leaves for dallas, but he was a hot/cold streak shooter anyway. smush? he couldn't guard his own shadow. radmanovic? VERY streaky shooter who can't play a lick of defense. walton? good situational player who isn't terribly consistent with his outside shot or with his defense. vujacic? who? turiaf? feel good story and plays with energy. just doesn't see enough game time. aaron mckie? is he still in the league? brian cook? puh-lease. can't play defense or hit a jumper from anywhere but the baseline.

this team needs a serious injection of talent, otherwise they'll be playing second fiddle to the clippers. again.

First off, I am not smoking anything. I am just showing Lakers pride, die hard fan since I was a little kid.

Kwame Brown showed alot of what he can do at the very end. He is still young and one of those players who can really take off with another year of the triangle. Remember, this was his first year with the triangle and even PJ says it takes 2 years to learn and is the hardest to play under. Chris Mihm is rumored to be gone, there is talks about even more players that will be gone... http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_18278.shtml (Yes, I know its a rumor, but before anything happens, it ends up as a rumor first)

Smush did joke in the playoffs, but he sure showed some good games in the regular season. The Lakers do have Farmar now and also Maurice Evans who is aggressive and played in Italy (he is also KGs cousin).

Neither you or I can predict how Kobe will come out. But I think he has learned that an insane season will still not get him MVP, there is still those people up top, that do not like him. He wants to win and knows he cannot do it himself, he is no dummy. Kobe does not think he is superior than Jordan, the dude is very humble and you have a false opinion of him, as most do.

Lamar Odom 15/6/7 he is the perfect roll player who can bring close to a triple double every single night...remember, the Lakers do not need a guy who will score tons, they need roll players and he fits right in.

The bench? well, it is loaded with lots of up and coming talent.

Andrew Bynum
Brian Cook
Ronni Turiaf
J.R. Pinnok
Von Wafer
Shammond Williams

Also. Radmanovic is inconsistent, BUT he has never been a started and will be a starter for the Lakers. I know he really showed up for the clippers in the playoffs and pulled a few games off for them with his 3 bombs.

Farmar/Evans/Smush/Williams, either off the bench.
Kobe - with Vujacic or Wafer off the bench.
Radmanovic - Walton or Cook off the bench.
Odom - Turiaf, Cook or Walton off the bench.
Brown - Bynum or Mihm off the bench.

Bottom line is, who can predict anything? All the haters thought they would not make the playoffs. Well, they almost made it into the first round. All of this with a team that had been together 1 year.

actually, they almost made it OUT of the first round.

and when phoenix had finally solved their system, they were obviously no match for them. i mean, after all, smush was one of the key factors in their blowout losses in games 5 and 7. take away his confidence and he doesn't even want to sniff at a shot. and let's not forget how kobe gave up as well.

i am a die hard laker fan and have been my entire life. i go back to the days when they traded for kareem abdul-jabbar and i'm saddened by how this team disintegrated because of one player's selfishness and petulance.

Being a fan, just remember...this team has only been together 1 year and made it to the first round and ALMOST out. Lets sit back and see what they can do this year...it should be good.

As I stated in the beginning "GO LAKERS". This was a post to bring in the fans, so we could talk about them and get pumped up.

Uhhh? So everyone predicted that they wouldnt make the playoffs, and the Lakers didnt make the playoffs.....Im confused....

First off, that piece of shit UCLA bitch Jordan Farmar will ride the bench if anything. The fact that he got signed is beyond me.

It takes a team to win a championship. Kobe will never change. He will always be that selfish player that no one wants to play with.

Look at their lineup:
Kwame Brown-Not co-ordinated
Kobe Bryant-Good
Andrew Bynum-sucks
Brian Cook-Sucks major ass , hasnt done anything since Illinois
Maurice Evans-Who is this?
Jordan Farmar-Do I even have to say anything?
Devin Green-Who?
Jim Jackson-Didnt he play for Indiana like 15 years ago?
Aaron McKie-76ers dumped him bc he couldnt play with ballhog Iverson, now Kobe?
Chris Mihm-...wow...
Lamar Odom-The only guy on the team I like
Smush Parker-Has him moments
J.R. Pinnock-Who
Vladimir Radmanovic-Has moments
Ronny Turiaf-Has moments
Sasha Vujacic-Sucks ass
Von Wafer-His name is Von Wafer....nuff said
Luke Walton-Luke shouldnt be at LA
Shammond Williams-OK...
