The phones, an essential part of everyday life for 55million Britons, are crawling with potentially lethal bacteria.

With tens of thousands of microbes living on each square inch, they harbour more bacteria than a lavatory seat, the sole of a shoe or a door handle. Microbiologists say the combination of constant handling and the heat generated by the phones creates a prime breeding ground for all sorts of bugs that are normally found on our skin


In other words, they come into contact with more parts of our body and a wider range of bacteria than toilet seats.

If you are being serious, then yes, I am always cleaning my phone. I just gotta have my RAZR looking all sharp and pretty at all times.

Some nerd info.....In a biochem class I had a few years ago, we cultured bacteria from different sources to see what everyday item would yeild the most colonies. #1 was car keys, #2 was cell phones. You can take a Q-tip and put a small amount of rubbing alcohol on it, and it will disinfect it.
